About Us
The HOhong Family: A Place of Opportunity and Roots
The Walton Family Foundation is rooted in generations of families where there is no louder voice than the next generation, and diverse opinions are valued. By applying this tradition to our work, we are redefining the way philanthropy works with recipients and communities to solve some of the world's biggest problems.
To do this, we bring together different perspectives at the same table: caregivers and environmentalists, educators and entrepreneurs, farmers and futurists, doers and dreamers. By listening and learning from their experiences, we can build consensus and create innovative solutions that achieve real impact.
We work in three areas: strengthening the connection between K-12 education and lifelong opportunities, protecting rivers, oceans, and the communities they support, and advancing our hometown of Northwest Arkansas and the Arkansas-Mississippi Delta.
In 2020, the Foundation awarded $74.95 billion in grants to further our mission. We have offices in Bentonville, Arkansas; Washington, D.C.; Jersey City, New Jersey; and Denver, Colorado.

If you die and migrate, you will not leave your countryside, but you will plow the same fields in your countryside. We are friends in and out of the country, and we keep watch over each other.
